How it works
Our Trauma-Informed Sound Healing Certification is designed to meet you where you are. With rolling admission, you can begin your training at any time and progress at a pace that fits your schedule and experience.
On your first day, you will receive your personalized Certification Roadmap. This roadmap outlines each stage of the curriculum, guiding you through the knowledge, skills, and supervised practice necessary to develop both confidence and competency. Rather than requiring a rigid sequence of classes, the roadmap allows you to attend trainings as they become available, while ensuring you complete all required competencies before certification.
Whether you are an experienced clinician or new to sound healing, your learning journey will be tailored to your individual background, goals, and professional experience. This flexible approach allows you to integrate new skills thoughtfully while building a strong clinical foundation.
Throughout your training, you will have ongoing access to your sound healing mentor, Mary Clare O'Brien, LMHC, for guidance, questions, and support as you move through the curriculum. Mentorship is an important part of the certification process, providing opportunities for feedback, skill development, and clinical integration.
Upon successful completion of the certification requirements, you will receive your Trauma-Informed Sound Healing Certification. After obtaining the appropriate informed consents and practicing within the scope of your professional credentials, you may begin incorporating these techniques into your work with clients.
This program is built on the belief that effective healing begins with competent, confident practitioners. Our goal is not simply to teach you how to use sound, but to help you understand when, why, and how to integrate sound safely, ethically, and effectively into therapeutic practice.
Why I Teach
I never set out to create trainings.
I simply became fascinated by one question that continues to guide everything I do:
Why do some people heal when others remain stuck—even when they're receiving excellent therapy?
That question has led me down countless paths of learning. Neuroscience. Trauma research. Attachment. EMDR. Breathwork. Clinical Aromatherapy. Sound. Somatic therapies. Energy medicine. Psychology. Not because I was searching for the next trend, but because every new perspective helped me better understand one thing: the incredible intelligence of the human nervous system.
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, (MA, RI, FL) I've had the privilege of sitting with hundreds of people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Again and again, I found that healing wasn't about finding one perfect intervention. It was about understanding the person sitting in front of me well enough to know what their nervous system needed.
That belief became the foundation of the Rhythm Keeper Method™.
It isn't a protocol. It isn't a script. It's a way of thinking.
It's about learning to recognize patterns, understanding how different parts of the brain and nervous system communicate, and thoughtfully selecting interventions that help the body move from protection toward connection. Sometimes that intervention is breath. Sometimes it's bilateral stimulation. Sometimes it's guided imagery. Sometimes it's sound. The technique is never the goal. The person is.
The Rhythm Keeper Method continues to evolve because healing continues to teach me. It has been shaped by years of clinical practice (click here for case presentation), thousands of hours with clients, extensive continuing education, and the generosity of extraordinary teachers who shared their wisdom with me. I am especially grateful to my sound healing mentor, Lisa Murphy of Fairhaven Healing Arts Center, whose guidance deepened my understanding of therapeutic sound and its thoughtful integration into clinical work. Her mentorship became an important thread woven into the development of this work, and I am honored to continue sharing those teachings with integrity and respect.
I don't believe we need more clinicians collecting techniques.
I believe we need clinicians who understand why techniques work.
My hope is that when you train with me, you'll leave with more than a certification. You'll leave seeing your clients differently. You'll become more curious. More intentional. More confident in choosing interventions that fit the individual sitting in front of you rather than asking the individual to fit the intervention.
Every course I teach is designed with one purpose in mind: to help you become the kind of clinician who can think critically, respond creatively, and help people heal in ways that are deeply personalized, ethical, and grounded in both science and compassion.
If that vision resonates with you, I would be honored to be part of your journey.
